Shut up Piggy!
The piggy commercial from Geico has been getting a lot of attention lately. How can’t it, I mean seriously a pig yelling incessantly and hysterically like a little kid holding an air wheel as a car zips past a neighborhood. How is that supposed to promote its car insurance? A piggy yelling “wee wee wee” as his air wheel spins is not relevant in any way to car insurance so why did Geico make this commercial? I think Geico believes they are famous enough that just having an attention grabbing ad would be enough to increase their number of customers. Every time I watch it or goes on television it scares the hell out of me because it’s all quiet until the piggy starts yelling his obnoxiously loud “wee’s”. I was just informed that they even named this piggy Maxwell. What is this? This says a lot about how Americans value advertisements that have no point what so ever other than to give them a good laugh. It seems the more stupid and pointless an ad is the more attention it manages to grab. The pig even has a home and seems to be a neighbor of the woman driving the car because the woman says: "you’re home” when they stop by a house. People seriously like this commercial very much as indicated by YouTube’s 19,214likes and only 474 dislikes. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next thing Geico does for their commercials is have screaming goldfish or something to better promote their car insurance.
